Brighton & Hove Wreath Laying 2022

As part of the 2022 Remembrance Day events, a wreath was laid at Brighton & Hove Albion's match against Arsenal on the 9th November 2022 at Highbury.

I had the immense honour to lay the Brighton & Hove Albion wreath at their away game against Arsenal. Not only did I lay the wreath but it was on the centre circle of the pitch, absolutely brilliant what an experience and once in a lifetime opportunity. Arsenal contacted my club to ask if they knew a veteran who would be attending the Carabo cup game, Weds 9th Nov. The club contacted myself and jumped at the opportunity. I was staying in London for the Remembrance weekend as I normally march with my association (RAMC). It wasn't just me but a supporter from Arsenal, Bugler and Standard Bearer all pitch side. Was even applauded as I made my way round the stadium to get to my seat, from both sets of supporters. My thanks to Brighton & Have Albion and Arsenal for giving me the immense pleasure and honour of laying the wreath.

The RAMC Association

William Boog LeishmanIn 1925, the RAMC Association was formed to further the camaraderie of WW1 Corps veterans with Sir William Leishman being the first President. There are now some 25 branches around UK with a predominantly veteran membership although most serving Corps members also are members centrally. The Association has traditionally been supported by Corps Funds and especially for the expenses of the branch standards and standard bearers.
